I'm sorry if it sounds kind of jerkish, but I've noticed that while many straight people pretend to be gay, I've never really seen a gay person do that. I assume it has something to do with "gay pride", but I don't like the idea of pride about something you have no control over so I was wondering if there was another reason.

((Um… what? Gay pride exists as a reaction to oppression and abuse. It exists because of the people who would want us to be anything BUT proud of ourselves. It’s saying, “I’m proud that I have the strength to be honest and not let society’s homophobia affect me.” And straight people that pretend to be gay do so because they don’t understand what gay people go through and that they’re real people and not just stereotypes.))
